How viable is Anthrax

I'm getting the GCN version of this game soon, and of the playable characters I've seen so far, Anthrax seems to be the one I want to have as a main. My question is, how viable is she in the current metagame?

This is actually something that's been debated a good bit by the community. She has nice mobility and a decent combo game, but she lacks range. Rewards players who have good fundamentals. Personally, I think she's either at the top of the mid tiers or the bottom of the high tiers. She's definitely a viable character, but she doesn't have the cheese that the other top tiers do so you have to know what you're doing.
