Hey, Rubbermaid here. Still recovering from my damaged eBay delivery earlier this week. Spirits are not completely down though, uni term starts again in a month so I'm hoping to get competitive with my Smash Bros mates. Year-end aims for varsity match against Warwick. [we migrating this thread once it's created, or what? I'm camping in here]

Someday we'll have to get all the U.S. players together for a national tourney, lol.

Seems like most of us are from the southeast. Haha. We'll have a national.

I mean, I GUESS it'd technically be a regional? Someone needs to start a scene in Cali so that we can have an east-coast-west-toast rivalry and disagree about whether items should be legal. Maybe we can even make a documentary with interviews from all the top Slammers.

I'm that guy who's absolutely pissed off. I'm from North Wales. I heard about the tournament at Heir II but too late before I could enter (I was the guy in the hat handing out biscuits). Bought the game for a Smash weekend and had a few matches. Instantly felt a kinship with Huff 'n' Puff. Don't know what it is about it him, something about the wolfy attitude, the way he propels himself with his own breath and the ambiguous sexuality. But that enhuff about me.

Yo, I'm Steffan. I live in Texas, USA. I first discovered Shrek Super Slam when a guy at my smash locals brought it and we had a mini side tournament. It was super fun so I looked into the competitive community and here I am. I really like Huff N Puff Wolf

You're not the only one, HNP Wolf is a fan favorite for sure! You're gonna have fun if you use him, definitely. I've used a little bit of HNP, but I tend to stick more to Robin Hood and Luna.

Yeah I just unlocked him the other day but I actually played him a bit more today. I really like his movement and his B. Def gonna be a character I put some time into. The only other character I have played consistently is Fiona. Really like her movement and her roll in mid air.

Good diversity, too. Fiona is more aggressive and combo-heavy while Wolf is more zoning-based but hits really hard.

Hi, I'm Momo. I'm from Canada and am very tired all the time. I really like this game and want to get better at it but I live so far away from the vast majority of you people so I doubt I'll ever meet any of you at tournaments but maybe we can play on netplay sometime. I mainly play Pinocchio and Fiona (Human) and am deciding on which one to play. Any pointers appreciated.

Hi, I'm Momo. I'm from Canada and am very tired all the time. Are you sure you wouldn't be better as a Huff 'n' Puff main? Welcome to the community. Very few people here have anyone they can practice with. UK peeps have the advantage in that it's impossible for us to be more than 850 miles away from each other if we're on the mainland. Other option is to just try and get people to play next time you're playing video games or take the game to Smash events if you play that. As for Pinocchio and Fiona m0th64 is the guy who knows stuff: I just come up with stupid names for combos and tech. Very interested to see what you discover, I'm sure it'll be... ... eggcelent...

I mainly play Pinocchio and Fiona (Human) and am deciding on which one to play. Any pointers appreciated. Both Pinocchio and Fiona have really great rushdown. The main difference I'd think of would be that Fiona probably has more aerial options, and that Pinocchio has slightly nicer combos (perhaps even moreso now that ogrements are about). In terms of viability I'd personally consider them equal, but I think almighty m0th puts Fiona marginally above. Go with your heart!

I live in eastern Canada which is sorta as close to the southeast US as it is the uk but still not as close to anyone as I would enjoy. I don't think I'll discover much but I think I can definitely make use of some of the things discovered. I do play melee but I'm pretty shy and my tournament experience is pretty limited and I don't really know many people so maybe if I start going more I can get people interested but if not I'm fine just playing online for now.

Looks like I have a reputation now.
Fiona and Pinocchio are definitely both viable. Pinocchio especially is suuuper slept on and I'm not really sure why. I actually recently found something with him that's just really really dumb. If Pinocchio hits Luna's shield with an aerial and she tries to jab out of shield afterward, her jab doesn't come out and she goes into stun for about half a second. Not sure if that's intentional and if it happens on other characters but Pinocchio's aerial was already relatively safe an annoying lmao.
Both characters have good mobility and combo game, which is key to being viable in the current meta. Either way you've made a good decision (especially since you didn't pick RRH... )
