late post, but I've finally got around to posting these results to ShrekBoards.
So this tourney was called Absolutely Pissed Off 2, the more organised sequel to the previous netplay tournament Absolutely Pissed Off. This time, it got 16 entrants, making it the new largest netplay tournament of all time! This one also had some interesting results.
Bracket: challonge.com/absolutelypissedoff2

2nd: redridingshrek
3rd: Lord Ape
4th: FreddyBacon
5th: Lalzu / EIREXE

9th: Flick / Rubbermaid / Kirby / Sarger
13th: PartlyAwesome / Whale / cleverpidgeon / Jv5_guy

redridingshrek vs ProviderOfSouls (WFs):

redridingshrek vs ProviderOfSouls (GFs):

Finally some closing thoughts:
- Rubbermaid's placement might seem surprising, but it's not due to actual losses: due to connection problems he had to forfeit his sets against Lalzu and Sorzan.
- kirby's placement also is probably partly due to connection problems. He forfeited his set to hunterstuff due to connection problems. Still, he lost to Lalzu, so he underperformed for his seed.
- Lalzu placed 5th, but only won one set in the process (his set against Kirby). So although he did well to beat Kirby, his placement is mostly because Kirby was seeded too highly.
- Pinocchio's continuing to get some impressive placements, despite him not being as strong as quite a few other characters in the game (in most peoples' opinions). Is this partly because his combos are easy to execute so he's good online? It's hard to say. Redridingshrek was already known to be a very strong player, so I think it's more likely that the Pinocchio players are just good!
- Flick vs PartlyAwesome was Shrek vs Donkey. The one true matchup. Oh also, Flick took a game from Lord Ape, he must be a god at this game
- This tourney got a decent turnout, but I think its record will be broken again by Slamtober!
