A problem we face at the moment is we have no way to actually see if the combos we are doing are too slow or not true thanks to solo practice not having a way to make the computer player mash fast. However, this can alleviate some of that struggle.
Introducing Pulover's Macro Creator. You can use this program to run scripts. In this case, we'll be using it to test our mashing. The link to the website is here. Go ahead and download it, install it, the works. Once you have that downloaded, download these two files included in this post that we'll be using for the program. When you have the program up, go to File and click Open. Find the script you'll want to use. The two scripts are as follows:
s3 mashing: This is what I consider to be the average slammer's mash speed. This is great if you want to test if you're doing your combos fast enough or if you want to see if a combo is true or not.
soniccat mashing: Named after SonicCat, this script puts mashing speed to the limit. It tests how frame perfect you are with some combos and shows how quick the pinnacle of mashing in Shrek SuperSlam can be.
Once you have selected your file, choose Macro 2 as it will be the left and right arrow key inputs. Press the record button and the script is ready to use. Make sure you edit the macro to loop by setting the loop number to 0. Now all you need to do is configure a controller in dolphin. Go to controllers and for whichever port you're using for the mashing dummy, select Standard Controller. Press Configure. Now use keyboard and mouse as the device and make the arrow keys up, down, left and right in their respective directions and make a couple buttons for A and B to navigate the menus. When you press the play button on the toolbar that should be at the top left, your script will start playing and you can practice your combos away.
