To Dark Wizzy, I'm a former Puss in Boots. I barely scraped by in some matchups. The problem with the character is the lack of reliable kill confirms. This leads to having to play the neutral game after filling the slam meter, but his Slam is incredibly hard to hit in the neutral itself since it is one of the only ones where you can roll out of the intended stun animation. So most of his kills require a read with an anti-air, a ground grab, or following someone's roll to catch the opponent. His movement options are about average along with his disjoints. He doesn't get walled out much like Smash 4 Mario, but it doesn't matter when he doesn't kill. To make a point, Smash 4 Mario has an easier time killing than Puss in Boots, and in comboing. His moves can be fast, but most of the moves are low in hitstun which leads to low combo potential. Most of his combos rely on the opponent messing up in positioning or in terms of getting the "shield stun" where you mash out of a grab or break their shield. In terms of positioning, you have to combo off of the wall by throwing them towards it and hitting the opponent on the rebound. His combos are strict in timing as well. He basically feels like the epitome of hit and run with a worse reward off of the neutral and one of the most difficult times in killing.
