How come Kung Fu Dojo is banned? Is it because of circle camping or the items available there?

We could do with a guide to each stage discussing the pros and cons of each from a competitive perspective.

Hello! I'm hosting a small SSS tournament tomorrow, so I made a tournament rulesheet to put at setups to help newcomers with the rules and stagelists. [ High Quality PDF Download]

Sadly there weren't enough entrants when making the bracket early on the day to warrant it replacing the melee doubles event, but later on the day a lot of people tried it out and liked it I'll try running a bracket next time with pre-reg, my scene is starting to get comfortable with shrek's love

How come Kung Fu Dojo is banned? Is it because of circle camping or the items available there? Too big and too many items, or at least that's always been my understanding. It's my favorite stage but I agree that it probably isn't viable.

Guys, how do you configure game settings like match time limit and such?

Press Y on the level select screen. Probably worth putting that in the OP as it doesn't tell you it in-game.

I think that stalling (Wall-jumping in tight spots) should be banned.

What happens if both players are tied in score and have an equal amount in their slam meter when time runs out? What happens if one player is accidentally slammed OoB? If an Anti-Air can combo into itself up to 3 times but not indefinitely, is it still allowed to use it as such?
Also found out that Robin Hood can snipe a stalling player in the Trophy Room, either with his charged arrows or the trophies themselves. Stalling is still discouraged though.

I'm not sure the idea of "most Slam wins" would work. It's fine when it's obvious but what if they're close and both players dispute? A one Slam tie-breaker would suffice.
In the event of OoB a full rematch should be done. When the OoBs are more well understood this rule would become like the Freeze Glitch rule in SSB Melee.
I'd say no. A repetition is a repetition.

Only true infinites are banned. Even situational stuff like Dronkey's kick infinite at the wall and Robin Hood's robbling aren't banned since it relies on very specific positioning. So no, I don't think double anti-airs are banned.
Wall jump stalling should still be banned regardless since most characters really can't deal with it and it breaks characters with aerial projectiles.

I gotta say I'm not sure I like seeing infinites banned. You will find in time it's MUCH harder to define and enforce. Check out David Sirlin'ns Play To Win article where he talks about it. I think the game should be accepted for its craziness. It hasn't murdered UMVC3 to have so many insta kills, I think it can work for this game too. (I've studied tons of game rulesets btw which is why this really interests me.)

That reminds me, I've been meaning to ask. Someone mentioned this before, but are we turning infinites on for doubles since partners can break you out? Without going into too much detail, I may or may not be planning a local S3 tournament series in the Atlanta area and right now my draft of the ruleset has them on. Frankly, at least from my experience most infinites in this game are super slow at racking up damage in doubles anyway so they're pretty much never optimal in the fast-paced environment S3 teams creates.
To respond to your thought, Capps: Most infinites in S3 are only one or two specific moves repeated over and over so they're pretty easy to spot, though there are a lot of people talking about getting rid of the infinites clause all together since so many characters have non-repeating 0-Slams now anyway. My personal plan is to try it out at an event at some point in the future, myself, to at least test it, since the rule was put in place before most current tech had been found anyway so we really have no idea.

It's almost an unenforceable rule in doubles, and also not as important since having a partner to break you out helps.
As for getting rid of the infinites clause all together, just no. Some characters can infinite a character with ONE move as long as they get a grab anywhere on stage. (Thanks, Soup Grabs.) The discovery of so many 0-slams has levelled out the tier list a lot but it seems unfair to give those characters with infinites a free pass for racking up damage when other characters have to perform more complicated combos.
Speaking of 0-slam, has anyone tried playing matches with the Slam growth lowered and a lower stock count?
