are tilts of the stick required or anything? As long as the stick is mapped to the analog stick and not the dpad you should be fine.

When it comes to mapping buttons, there are (L),(R),(Z/X),(Y),(A),(B) different actions buttons needed, so it should be okay.
The only difference I could imagine is the loss of the C-stick for instant rolls/airdodges. Probably more significant for Fiona than most others.

Tilts are useful for things like turn around jab out of shield but I wouldn't call it necessary. Should be fine.

yeah losing the c stick for dodging might just be reason enough not to use it, but I'll try it out when I'm on a PC that can actually Dolphin

I find turnaround jab oos to be a lot easier and more consistent by pressing A and then inputting the direction after. It works every time and eliminates the chance of an accidental dash attack.
