Whenever you use it (I was practicing on rrh) the opponent just moves out of the way until you finish the attack and you grab them like normal. Weird

Try pressing A after A+Y in various timings in the grab window. The anti-air can be made to hit (you can hear it register), but it'll sometimes just carry the knockback of the throw. Really weird stuff.

Yeah, Gingy's soup grab is almost useless. Which is good, if he got a lot out of it he's be even more dumb than he already is. Like RRH :^)
