Have I ever told you of the tale of Level 10 CPU Wolf? It's a tragic one it is. Happened a while back when the wolf still competed in Shrek Super Slam.
His breakout tournament was at "ShrektMas Eve :The rise of the Mid Tiers." Despite complaining about the atrocity that was the capitalization and grammar of a title, he agreed to participate in the scene starting there. He managed to outplace sirensarecalling by her dropping out early and managed to bring it to game 5 against the legendary Sarger. Level 10 CPU Wolf unfortunately could not close it out against the mighty Sarger, and his opponent went on to say that he only brought it to game 5 because he was sandbagging.
To redeem himself and to try to gain respect in the community, he decided to challenge the mountain sage, RetroGamersGuru, to battle in a best of 5 set. The sage took on the challenge to evaluate the opponent.
Level 10 CPU Wolf faced off against RetroGamersGuru's Fiona at the beginning. The first battle was semi-close, but the Fiona main closed it out.
Recognizing the opponent was beneath him in skill, the mountain sage decided to bring it to an end swiftly when he recognized the entire gameplan of Level 10 CPU Wolf. The Wolf would have two attack phases: he would walk up to the sage and either attack or grab, or he would air dash over RetroGamersGuru and try to hit him with an aerial. This was in order to try to capitalize with his legendary two piece combos: aerial into grab and ground throw into slam. The mountain sage recognized that he only had to use ground grab over and over again if the wolf walked towards him, and the wolf would either roll away or fall into the grab. If the wolf was in the air, he would just wait and use his anti-air. If available, the sage could use the character's crumpet dash to beat the wolf without breaking a sweat.
It was almost as if RetroGamersGuru was fighting against a programmed computer that would not change its gameplan in time of need, and the mountain sage wondered how Level 10 CPU Wolf even managed to take 2 games off of the legendary Sarger.
RetroGamersGuru then used his counterplay to sweep any hope of victory out from under Level 10 CPU Wolf, and he did so with the entire cast. The mountain sage did not lose a single game out of the 60 matches that they played, and he rarely lost any stocks as well, consistently 5 stocking the wolf. Level 10 CPU Wolf fell to the might of the sage's Fiona, Shrek, Donkey, and more. He even lost to his Anthrax, the character which Sarger mains. The final battle was in a Huff n' Puff Wolf ditto. The young wolf excitedly challenged the sage once again to try to once again have hope in achieving his dreams. Unfortunately, it was not to be since he lost 3-0 and did not take a stock.
When the battle was over, RetroGamersGuru cast the hopeless wolf back to the bottom of the mountain from where they fought. In despair, Level 10 CPU Wolf vowed to never play Shrek Super Slam ever again. For how could he challenge ProviderOfSouls if he couldn't beat the mountain sage, RetroGamersGuru? In his mind though, he still hopes to one day be recognized, and he even hopes to be voted into Slam Pinnacle 2 (at the time of writing this).
Will Level 10 CPU Wolf ever return? That is a mystery for another day.
