I think we can all agree that the meta has evolved enough over the past month and a half that the old tier list is pretty much obsolete. I've actually been thinking a lot on this for the past few days, and I've come up with what I feel to be a somewhat reasonable tierlist. That said, even looking over it now I see places that should probably be changed, and I'm not as knowledgeable about the game as many of you. I want this thread to be a discussion on the viability of different characters, not an official tierlist, so that between this and SitS around the corner we might be able to come up with a tierlist that better reflects the current state of the metagame.
Edit: In light of the events of Slam in the Swamp today, I feel comfortable moving Gingerbread Man back into S-tier for the time being (although I still don't think his and RRH are that far ahead of the rest of the cast). Dronkey and Black Knight both performed quite well, so their position in A+ seems reasonable. Luna is still my bae, so she has to remain a top tier, though I'll move her down to the upper half of A- since there's still some debate over her slam's viability. However, I don't think the meta is defined by slams, as evidenced by Gingy's placement, and Luna has good setups off of her crumpet dash. I'm comfortable with the placement of the other A- characters, but I'm open to suggestions if anyone can tell me show me what I'm not seeing with Puss In Boots or Prince Charming. I'm still finding new Robin Hood tech and setups without even trying, so his status as a sleeper in B+ feels appropriate, and Fiona's approach game/aerials and G-nomes combos are still things I think have potential. Wolf's mobility with his amazing air dash got even better with the revealing of the Swooce, which he also excels at, and damage output is good, so I'll leave him in B-minus along with Pinnochio, though I could move Pinnochio up or down pretty easily if you guys try to convince me. Humpty Dumpty's projectiles still take too long to get out and are EZPZ to powershield, though he is helped out a good bit by swoocing. Unfortunately, he's just too outclassed by the other projectile-based characters. I've found some pretty cool combos with Captain Hook and his walldash is amazing. I could see him moving up if I or someone else actually had the patience to develop his meta, but for now this feels right. Fiona Ogre's only quality that isn't generally outclassed is her amazing slam, so I still feel this placement is appropriate, though I'm open to moving her up as well. I still think Donkey and Shrek are garbage, but more playable garbage than Cyclops and Quasimodo. Sell me on Donkey and I'll move him up but from everything I've seen his damage output and range are abysmal, he isn't allowed to grab after an airdash even if he shield-cancels it, and his mobility just isn't there to make up for that. And then obviously Cyclops and Quasimodo are the bottom of the barrel.
